Informing Your Insurer of Renovations to Your Residence

You must inform your insurer of any renovations you make. Your insurer will then issue an endorsement for the entire duration of the renovations. Thereafter, your insurer will assess with you whether the renovations carried out have increased the reconstruction value of your residence. If need be, your insurer will recommend that you increase the amount of insurance on your home insurance policy.
