Properly Protecting Your Rented Dwelling
If you are a tenant, purchasing personal
property insurance and civil
liability coverage can save you a lot of problems. In the event of
a loss or damage to your property, you will not lose everything you own
or be forced to compensate others.

Personal Property Insurance
|
At Industrial Alliance Auto and Home Insurance,
we offer you two types of personal property coverage:
 |
L'Excellence protection: “all risks
except” coverage;
|
 |
Conventionnelle protection: “specified perils coverage”,
which covers your personnal property in the event of fire, theft,
vandalism, and water damage, such as it has been pre-defined in
your contract.
|
Choose the preferred amount of deductible:
$200, $300, $500 or $1000.
It's important to make an inventory of
your property to ensure that the established value is sufficient in
the event of a claim. Use the grid provided on this website to perform
a property
inventory (PDF – 26 KB).

Civil Liability Insurance
|
Civil
liability insurance is of the utmost importance—even for tenants.
Just imagine the consequences if you were to be deemed liable for water
or fire damage to your neighbour's property
you could be sued for
many thousands of dollars! When you have civil liability insurance, your
insurer pays the bill. If you do not, you must assume the costs yourself.
Civil liability insurance covers you in the event of any damages that
you may cause to others.
