Merger of Industrial and Alliance and Creation of Industrial-Alliance Life Insurance Company

In the early 1980s, the deregulation of financial institutions and increasingly tough competition lead Industrial and Alliance to join forces. In January 1987, the two companies merge to form Industrial-Alliance Life Insurance Company. Though this merger, the new company is able to:
