Acquisition of The North West Life Assurance Company of Canada
In 1982, Industrial expands
its life insurance operations across Canada and into the western United
States by acquiring The North West Life Assurance Company of Canada, a
company founded in 1951 and based in Vancouver.
Now known as Industrial Alliance Pacific,
the company operates primarily in Canada's western provinces and Ontario.
It offers:

the same insurance products and financial
services as the parent company, Industrial Alliance Insurance and
Financial Services. |

creditor insurance products to automobile dealerships, a sector
in which it is currently the Canadian leader.

It is also responsible, within the Industrial
Alliance Group, for developing the special risks market for students,
employers and associations.
