1988-2003
Creation of Investia Financial Services Inc. and Acquisition of Mutual Fund Companies

Investia Financial Services Inc. is founded in 1988, but does not really begin to play an active role in the distribution of mutual funds until 1999, when Industrial Alliance gives itself the objective of further supporting representatives by offering them a more complete line of wealth management products.

In 2001, Investia acquires the mutual fund dealer operations of Groupe Financier Concorde.

In 2002, the Company acquires 25% ownership of FundEX Investments Inc., a mutual fund dealer. In 2003, the Company signed an agreement to increase its ownership to 75%. This agrement is subject to regular approval.

In 2003, Investia acquires Global Allocation Financial Group Inc. (Peterborough), another mutual fund company.

Also in 2003, the Company makes an offer to acquire all common shares of Co-operators Mutual Funds Limited (CMFL). The acquisition of CMFL allows Industrial Alliance to offer its own family of mutual funds using CMFL's current structure. This acquisition also allows the Company to further broaden its product range.

These acquisitions, or offers, allow Industrial Alliance to strengthen its position in the wealth management sector , which is one of the Company's strategic objectives. Representatives can now offer clients an extended range of life insurance as well as wealth management products such as mutual funds, segregated funds and securities.
