Acquisition of Companies that Supply Creditor Insurance to Automobile Dealerships

In 2000, Industrial Alliance Pacific acquires the insurance operations of Mécagroupe Inc., one of the main suppliers of creditor insurance to automobile dealerships in Quebec.

Less than one year later, Industrial Alliance Pacific also acquires Aegis Insurance Corporation (Aegis) and its affiliate, Sascar Management Ltd. (Sascar), which operate in Saskatchewan and Manitoba.

Industrial Alliance Pacific is the only company in this niche market to have a nationwide distribution network that serves all of Canada.
