Contributions
In line with the principles of the Imagine
program, Industrial Alliance donates 1% of its net pre-tax profits to
organizations that play an essential role in helping their communities.
In fact, in recent years, the Company has successively been awarded the
United
Way's highest distinction: a platinum certificate in recognition of
the participation of over 70% of Company employees in the annual fundraising
campaign.
Below are a few examples of the types of causes
and organizations that Industrial Alliance supports.

 |
Medical Research |
Industrial Alliance provides financial support
to organizations that promote medical research on diseases such as cancer,
leukemia and heart disease and that assist people suffering from these
diseases.

 |
University Foundations |
Industrial Alliance also provides financial support
to a large number of university foundations that promote higher education
and the advancement of scientific research.

 |
United Way |
Industrial Alliance has provided unconditional
support to the United
Way for many years. In addition to corporate contributions, the Company
also encourages individual initiatives undertaken by employees. During
the 2002 campaign, Industrial Alliance and its employees together raised
close to $160,000 for the United Way through various fundraising activities.
Each year, the Company also frees an employee
from his/her regular duties for a full year to help organize the regional
campaign. In addition, employees at the parent company are encouraged
to take part in the President's Walk, an annual activity that also helps
raise funds for the United
Way.
